If you’re on a budget or just prefer a closer connection with nature, there are even Kitty Hawk campgrounds and RV parks that thrive with repeat and new visitors.
In keeping with the quality of what visitors expect from Outer Banks hotels in general, all these accommodations offer amenites designed to make your stay comfortable and convenient. Expect pools, playgrounds, grills and picnic areas, screened porches and cable TV at most of them. Of course, at the larger Kitty Hawk hotels such as the Hilton, you’ll be awash in extras, including WiFi, a business center, fitness rooms, guest laundry and more.
With the central location, these hotels are very close to Kitty Hawk attractions and Kitty Hawk recreation options. And, as you can see from the map, these Kitty Hawk hotels are also the middle point between Duck, Corolla and points north and Roanoke Island, Hatteras and points south.

Remember that locals call Croatan Highway—aka U.S. Highway 158—The Bypass, and they refer to Virginia Dare Trail—aka N.C. Highway 12—as the Beach Road. Those simple names are just easier to remember!

The newest oceanfront hotel on the Outer Banks, the Hilton Garden Inn offers 180 rooms, including suites. Every guestroom has a microwave, refrigerator and coffee maker. The hotel has indoor and outdoor pools, a whirlpool and fitness center. The on-site restaurant, Great American Grill, serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Handicapped-accessible rooms are available. Throughout the hotel you can access wireless internet and use remote printing services, and each room is equipped with a large desk and ergonomic chair. Enjoy complimentary HBO and on-demand movies and video games. Pets are not allowed. They have guest laundry facilities. The Hilton Garden Inn is open year round.
Holiday Inn Express

The Holiday Inn Express has 98 guest rooms, all of which were recently renovated. Each room has a microwave, fridge and coffee maker. This hotel is located on the Bypass, but a beach access is within walking distance. They have an outdoor pool. Each morning they set up a complimentary breakfast bar. There is wireless internet access in all the rooms. Non-smoking and handicapped accessible rooms are available. Pets are not allowed. The Holiday Inn Express is open year round.
Adventure Bound Campground

The Adventure Bound Campground is a tent-only campground with 20 sites situated around a mixed grassy and wooded area with picnic tables. They have a large bathhouse with hot water showers and guest laundry facilities. There is a campfire area for relaxing and badminton, volleyball, horseshoes and shuffleboard courts for playing. Boogie boards and crabbing nets are available for your use, and the public boat ramp is just around the corner. Adventure Bound is open year round and pets are allowed.
Beach Haven Motel

Beach Haven Motel emphasizes quality over quantity. They have six guest rooms that are located just across the street from the beach on an attractively landscaped lot. Their mini-efficiency rooms include a refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. Choose from either their economy rooms, which accommodate two people, or their deluxe rooms, which accommodate four. Each room includes a deck. A guest picnic area is available with a gas grill and picnic table. Low-cost rentals are offered for beach supplies like chairs, umbrellas and boogie boards. The motel is entirely non-smoking. The Beach Haven is closed from mid-October to mid-May.
Buccaneer Motel and Beach Suites

The Buccaneer Motel and Beach Suites offers rooms and suites just across the Beach Road from the ocean. Rooms include a blow dryer, small refrigerator, coffee maker and microwave, while suites have full kitchens. They have suites from one to three bedrooms in size. Guests enjoy an outdoor pool, playground, picnic tables and charcoal grills. For your convenience, there are guest laundry facilities and a fish cleaning station. Best of all, the beach is directly across the street. The Buccaneer is closed during the off season. Pets are not allowed.
Charlie’s Family RV Park

A mere 50 yards from the Atlantic Ocean, this is a family RV park that is open from April 1 to December 1. They have more than 150 permanent units and a spot meant for use by those traveling through or stopping by for a week or a weekend. Charlie’s is a close-knit, fun and active community and includes amenities such as a saltwater pool, newspaper boxes and recycling containers. Numerous social activities provide guests of Charlie’s the comforts of home with the joy of beach living. Children are valuable members of the Charlie’s community, and they have activities planned for them all summer.
Cypress Moon Bed and Breakfast

Cypress Moon is located on the sound and offers three waterfront guest rooms. Each one has a private bath and is furnished with antiques, satellite TV, stereo and refrigerator. A fresh, hot breakfast is served each morning. Bikes and kayaks are available for exploring. The inn is a non-smoking establishment. It is not suitable for young children. The owners, and your hosts, Greg and Linda Hamby, have been residents of the Outer Banks for more than 35 years.
Kitty Hawk RV Park

This park offers more than 20 transient sites with oceanfront access and with 30 and 50 AMP service. Tents and pop-up campers are not allowed. The sites feature full hook-up: water, sewer, electrical and cable TV. Pets are permitted and reservations are encouraged.
Saltaire

Built in the 1950s, this is one of the treasured old-school beach motels. Saltaire is great for families and has watched generations of them return each year. They have an in-ground pool that’s also right across from the beach. Accommodations include 10 two-bedroom apartments and two three-bedroom cottages. Plus, they offer one-bedroom apartments in the off-season. The cottages have cable TV with VCRs, heat/air-conditioning and telephones. All apartments have cable TV with VCRs, heat/air conditioning, telephones, full kitchens and private screened porches. In fact, the screened porches are one of their most enjoyable features.
Sea Kove Motel

Located just across the street from the beach, the Sea Kove Motel offers efficiencies and cottages that make you feel right at home. There is even one cottage right on the oceanfront. They have an outdoor pool, playground and fish cleaning station available for guest use. The rooms are handicapped-accessible. Pets are not allowed. The Sea Kove is closed from December through March.
