• Helpful Hints: Park is skate-at-your-own-risk. Helmets are required by law. Elbow and Knee pads required for youth 17 & Under.

The YMCA’s skatepark has a cement bowl, ramps and a street section. The park is open to skateboards, rollerblades, bikes and scooters. Youth 12 and younger must have a parent present to skate. Youth 17 and younger must wear a helmet, knee and elbow pads. Only helmets are required for those 18 and older.

There’s a fee for the use of the park, which is discounted for Y members, Nags Head and North Carolina residents. Out-of-state visitors pay $10 a day or $30 a week to use the park. You can also include the skatepark in your vacation on the Outer Banks by staying in a participating Y-Home or Y-Tel (vacation rentals managed by the YMCA) or by purchasing a Weekly Flex Pass.

Must Dos:

At the YMCA Skate Park you take your skateboard through a series of challenging ramps and urban obstacles along with the Outer Banks only performance bowl. Our summer skate camps feature high quality instructors and are geared for the beginner through the expert.

Also welcome at the Y Skate Park – in-line skaters and BMX style bikes!

OBXtreme Skate Camp

OUr OBXtreme Skate Camp is where kids learn to skate ramps, bowls, half-pipes at every lever from beginner to advanced with plenty of time for free skating. Highlights include visits to other area skate parks, in-camp competitions and weekly awards.

OBXtreme Skate Camp

Skate camp improves motor skills, social interaction and skateboarding techniques. It also proides an environment that encourages friendship, communication, laughter, personal growth and a lot of fun! Camp includes swimming, field trips and camp awards. For ages 5-12 of ALL levels *Camp runs from 11:00 am-3:00 pm weekday.
