Features: In 2013, The Dunes Restaurant is open for breakfast, LUNCH & dinner daily. Breakfast starts @ 6:30 am and the restaurant stays open till 2:00 pm. Dinner starts @ 4 pm. In addition, stop into the R Bar - for a relaxing drink (Bloody Mary's a specialty) or a quick bite to eat. Check our Facebook page for specials and promotions. Welcome to The Dunes Restaurant and R-Bar in Nags Head. We have been a Nags Head Tradition for the past 31 years and hope that you will make us a part of your family tradition. We are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. We specialize in a breakfast and fruit bar loaded with fresh fruit, homemade pastries, eggs, grits, bacon, creamed chipped beef and sausage gravy,plus a lot more (pictures in the photo gallery). The Breakfast Bar is served weekends Spring & Fall; daily during the summer season. For lunch, we’re cooking up some southern favorites along with some great seafood specials, salads and daily lunch specials. For dinner, we serve the freshest local seafood featuring fresh fish, crabs, shrimp and oysters cooked just the way you like. Plus there’s always some of our famous Southern Fried Chicken on the menu along with steaks, ribs and more. We’re also trying out some new favorites . . . like a ‘Pimento Cheese, Grits & Bacon’ appetizer and we’ve brought back a family favorite - The Bloomin Dune. No trip to The Dunes would be complete with spending a few minutes in Roxie’s Retail! Yes it’s a gift shop right in the restaurant. And it’s a great, eclectic collection of beach and whimsical Outer Banks ‘bling’. Roxie is well known for her taste and southern style. For years, she’s brought it to The Dunes and its patrons. Great finds at reasonable prices.
