North Carolina’s Outer Banks, and relaxation – the two go sand in hand! That’s why at Nags Head Hammocks, we take helping you to do nothing very, very seriously. So if you’re considering one of our hammocks, swings, chairs, rockers, pillows or stands, you can relax even a bit more knowing that quality is the one thing we aren’t remotely casual about.

For more than 30 years, Nags Head Hammocks has been a leader and innovator in the pursuit of better outdoor living. In this age of everything being manufactured someplace else, we’re justifiably proud that every product to bear the Nags Head name is not only U.S.A.-made, but is hand-crafted right here in our beautiful home state of North Carolina.

KDH Store—This longtime OBX favorite is also one of our showcase stores. As you’re driving along N.C. 158, the main road through KDH and Nags Head, you’ll see our hammocks, swings, chairs and stands set up out front, scattered all across the handsomely landscaped lawn, and all along the store’s inviting front porch. On most days, customers are lying and sitting and swinging all over the place, to their hearts’ content. There’s no such thing as loitering in one of our stores!

Step inside, and you’ll often find one of our employees busily weaving away in one of the many pockets of sunshine streaming in. This roomy store is a beauty, if we do say so ourselves, a balanced mix of wood and rope and natural light. The imaginative layout makes you think the one big room is actually several smaller ones. Look up for a stunning skylight hammock display, and for the interspersed beach murals done by a talented local artist. And everywhere you turn, more hammocks and chairs and swings to try out! Customers have fallen asleep while enjoying some of our featured items at the KDH store – the ultimate form of praise for what we do!

Our heritage of excellence is our hallmark. No surprise, then, that our slogan today is little different than when we started out:

Deluxe Bent-Oak Porch Swing

Our largest swing is a sure-fire family favorite. It’s also one of our own very favorite designs. The steam-bent white-oak arms bring a touch of stateliness, but check out the white-oak table between the two hand-woven-rope seats! It’s the perfect perch for coffee and a morning paper, or picnic fixin’s for two – or for drowsily setting aside that newest Robert Parker mystery to nod off into a sweet swing siesta.

Extra-Wide Hammock (13 ft length - 60 in wide)

We don’t recommend that the family dog join you, but go on and invite the kids – this oversize relaxation station was made to hold the family! Our largest hammock, the Extra Wide comes in either white polyester or colored DuraCord® rope, which means strength and weatherability to rival the surprising cottony softness.

Double Folding Rocker

Why rock alone? Our Double Folding Rocker adds another rope seat to our much-copied stationary-rocker design. The white oak is cut in places a little thicker than with the single-seat version, but glazed just as pretty in our classic honey-gold.
