Features: 8 rooms of Art! Outer Banks gallery founded in 1969 but always fresh with many local artists and photographers represented. We have an extensive collection of collection of Outer Banks maps. Our historic antique prints feature hundreds of period Civil War prints as well as decorative botanicals and birds.

Yellowhouse Gallery: Creative Coastal Arts

Yellowhouse Gallery features work by approximately 50 local resident artists and photographers as well as artists who, although they are not fulltime residents, share a deep love for the Outer Banks. While many of our artists find their inspiration in the seashore, their expressions and chosen media vary. In our eight-room 1935 cottage, we have seven rooms devoted to the contemporary collection, much of it produced locally. We offer original paintings, prints and giclees in oil, acrylic, watercolor and mixed media. We showcase the largest collection of Outer Banks photography in the region. In addition to gallery owner Eve Turek’s photography, we represent nine other local resident photographers, including one room devoted to Ray Matthews’ photography. We also have stained glass, segmented lathe-turned wooden bowls and vessels, wave-formed pottery bowls and pottery mugs. Local artist E. M. Corsa’s whimsical critters and colorful beach prints delight all ages; her watercolor & collage originals reveal her sophisticated sense of humor and meticulous attention to detail. We have a room in the modern collection that features Outer Banks maps and novelties. For more details on individual artists and their work, please see our artist list on our website. We also have one room devoted to antique wood, steel and copperplate engravings and antique maps, including an extensive collection of period Civil War prints and maps.

Owner Pete Turek creates custom mats and frames in the Annex-Frame Shop at the rear of the gallery parking lot. See the separate section on Framing for more details about our custom framing services. The frame shop is open Mon-Sat, 11-5.
